Founded in 1977 - Böhler Thyssen Welding S.A. (BTWGR) based in Athens celebrated thirty years of successful business promoting and servicing the Greek market.

This subsidiary is serving and providing for the whole Greek market and since the year 2001has also served Cyprus and the neighbouring Balkan regions. Since 1991, the subsidiary in Athens has been managed by its head Hector Koskinas. Böhler Welding products have substantially contributed to the turnover of the dynamic development of the Greek marketing company. In 2006, the 15-headed team sold 683 tons of welding consumables.
Both, concerning the constructions and buildings for the Olympic Games in 2004 as well as regarding very famous projects such as the Rion-Antirion-Bridge (the worldwide biggest cable-stayed bridge), the Athens underground (railway) and the airport of Athens, the products of the Böhler Welding Group were used. In 2006, other orders followed for power stations near Nikolaos and in Crete (Atherinolakos) as well as for pipelines near Korinth and Alexandroupolis. The huge clientele is consisting of energy producers, the steel and mineral oil industry as well as mining.
In the course of the anniversary celebration at the beginning of July, the technical lectures of engineer Mr. Franz Winkler, application technology at Böhler Schweißtechnik (application technology) Austria GmbH GmbH, found special approval.
