State of the art power stations operate today with steam temperatures of 600°C/1110°F and a pressures of 280 bar. This high service temperature was realized with the development of the creep resistant steel grade ASTM A335, Grade P91.
Future thermal power stations are targeted to operate with steam temperatures up to 700°C/1290°F for a pressure of up to 350 bar!
Relevant new materials as the basic element for more efficient power stations have recently been developed and BÖHLER WELDING can offer the package of suitable products.
